Please don't take what you read as gospel - use any information obtained here at your own risk!
Please also be advised that use of any information obtained via a scanner or radio receiver for either personal gain or to aid in the commission of a crime is a violation of the FCC's Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986. Your use of a scanning radio or radio receiver to aid in the commission of a crime may be a federal offense! We take no responsibility for your utilization of information provided here to aid in any sort of illegal activity.
Interception of scrambled or encrypted communications is a violation of federal law. This likely includes decoding of voice inversion, proprietary MDT/MDC protocols, and any other proprietary modulation scheme. For example, decoding a voice-inversion scrambled conversation is likely illegal; decoding DTMF or MDC1200 bursts likely is not.
Utilizing a scanner to listen to cordless telephone or cellular telephone calls is illegal. Selling or importing a scanner which has analog cellular telephone frequencies unblocked may be illegal.
Use of a live scanning radio feed (such as the feeds provided by this website) by persons restricted from using a scanner by court order or legal injunction is most likely illegal.
Be a responsible scanner user! Please don't go racing around to fire and EMS calls, traffic stops, and crime scenes unless you wish to become part of the action -- and not in a good way. At best, you'll gain some attention and be stopped and interrogated as to why you keep showing up on scene at emergency calls. At worst, you'll end up as part of the emergency call yourself for either getting in the way of a first responder, or worse yet, a criminal. Let law enforcement, fire, and EMS do their jobs without your interference.
